Meanwhile, deep in the forest of Findora, hidden from the entire Manavia Prime, the remaining three Great Ones, Ahren, Ruslan, and Styx, sat in their wooden home, dreading the time that was about to come.
"Things have been set into motion, Styx," Ahren said, looking out of the window at the snow, "Things that cannot be undone by sitting here. We must leave our exile and bear the consequences of our doings."
Pinching the bridge of her nose, Styx shot up and held on to her son.
"What do you suggest we do? Fight? Help men like before?" Styx scoffed.
"Their insatiable greed and lust for power know no bound. The rulers of Edinretha for ages have sought the last surviving Paragon and her offspring. We... we gave them a chance to rule Manavia Prime without anyone challenging their reign. Their desire has galvanized the second coming of the Eternal Flame."
Ahren scoffed.
"I wonder, if we had let them live in peace, it wouldn't have come to this," Styx pondered.
"Had you killed the last paragon and not let her escape, this would never have happened," contempt visible in Ruslan's every lineament.
Styx shot up from her place at once, and both Ruslan and Ahren heard the thunder rumbling outside.
"Hold your impudent tongue, Ruslan!" Styx's voice thundered. "You may be my mate, but do not forget what that night meant for usâ for all of us. I created a haze in the sky to trap the young Paragon, yet she escaped my clutches. However, the calamity that is about to befall is only partially related to her," she looked indignantly at both the men present in the cabin.
"You both should have finished, Tia, quicker. Before she could summon the Eternal Flame."
It had been hours since Tia had been hiding in the starry cave of the Great Golden mountain. Tia had been to this very cave quiet sometimes, and it was one of the places Rae, and she would meet each other.
Not many knew about the glowy cave, and many would not dare to traverse through it, considering it led to the Aura tribe. When the great war was finished, Tia found this very cave when exploring the mountain tunnels with her sisters. Later she had explored them in secret with her lover.
Just the thought of Rae brought a sad smile to Tia's lips. She knew she wouldn't survive the night because of Ahren's powers and hence, never get to see the love of her life ever again.
Laying on the ground, Tia bit on the fabric of her cloak and let out silent sobs, remembering her sisters. She knew none of them had survived the massacre, and it shattered her.
Suddenly a feeling of nausea took over Tia, and she felt everything go hazy. By now, she had realized the reason the Great Ones and the Edin warriors chased her. The betrayal shattered her heart, and she felt a sharp pain in her heart.
What if they get me? What if they kill me and my ......? These thoughts alone
